Frequently asked questions
Straight answers about how DocPixEdit works and what it can and cannot promise.
Is DocPixEdit free?
Yes. The core tools — passport, visa and ID photos, resizing, print sheets and exports — are free, without a watermark or account.
Is my photo uploaded to your server?
No. Your photo is opened and edited inside your browser. It is never sent to DocPixEdit or to any third party, and it is not saved in your browser's storage.
Do I need to create an account?
No. There is nothing to sign up for. Open the site, upload a photo and download the result.
Which image formats can I use?
JPG, PNG and WebP are supported today, and BMP will usually open too. HEIC photos from iPhones should be shared or exported as JPG first; native HEIC support is planned.
Will my photo be accepted by the passport office or embassy?
We cannot guarantee that. DocPixEdit checks your image against the technical requirements we have recorded from official sources, and tells you where it came from and when we checked. Final acceptance is always decided by the authority, and requirements can change.
Can I print the photos at home or at a shop?
Yes. The print sheet tool places several copies on 4×6 inch, 5×7 inch, A4, A5 or Letter paper at 300 DPI, with optional cut lines, as a JPG or PDF.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes. DocPixEdit is designed for phones first: you can take the photo with your camera, edit with touch gestures and download the result directly.
Do you retouch or beautify faces?
No. Document photos must show you as you are. We adjust brightness, contrast and background, but never reshape or beautify facial features.
Can I install DocPixEdit as an app?
Yes. On Android and desktop Chrome or Edge, use the "Install app" button in the footer or the browser's install option. On iPhone and iPad, open the site in Safari, tap Share, then "Add to Home Screen". Once installed, the editor and tools keep working without a connection.
