Take a photo

Line up your face inside the guide, look straight at the camera with a neutral expression, then capture. The picture never leaves your device.

Keep your head inside the oval, shoulders level, even light on your face and a plain wall behind you.

Everything on this page runs in your browser. Your image is never uploaded, stored or analysed by a server.

About this tool

Some forms and offices want photos or scanned pages as a single PDF rather than loose image files. Photo to PDF places one image per page on A4, A5, US Letter or 4 × 6 / 5 × 7 photo paper, in the order you choose, with a margin and either fitted inside the page, filling it, or at its actual size at 300 DPI. The PDF is assembled on your device with the same library that builds our print sheets.

This is for one image per page. To fit several copies of the same photo on one sheet — the usual passport print — use the Print Sheet tool instead.

How it works

  1. Upload one or more images, or add them one at a time. Each becomes a page.
  2. Reorder or remove pages, then choose paper, orientation (automatic follows each image), margin and placement.
  3. Download the PDF. The page count and file size are shown when it is ready.

Good to know

  • Pick "Balanced" or "Smaller file" quality when a portal limits the upload size; "High" is for printing.
  • "Actual size at 300 DPI" reproduces a photo's physical dimensions on the page — useful for a 35 × 45 mm photo that must be cut out by hand.
  • For scanned documents, a 5–10 mm margin keeps the edges inside a printer's non-printable area.

Questions about this tool

Is the PDF searchable?

No — it contains images, not text. It is intended for photo and scan submissions, not for OCR.

Can I put more than one photo on a page?

Not with this tool. The Print Sheet tool tiles several copies of one photo at exact millimetre positions with cut lines; that is the right choice for passport prints.
