Take a photo

Line up your face inside the guide, look straight at the camera with a neutral expression, then capture. The picture never leaves your device.

Keep your head inside the oval, shoulders level, even light on your face and a plain wall behind you.

Everything on this page runs in your browser. Your image is never uploaded, stored or analysed by a server.

About this tool

Online applications for exams, bank accounts, government portals and visa forms often ask for a scanned signature with strict limits: a fixed width in pixels, a maximum of 10–50 KB, sometimes a transparent or pure white background. Photographing a signature on paper gives a grey, uneven image that fails those checks. The Signature Resizer cleans it up on your device: it finds the ink, crops to it, turns the paper transparent or white, recolours the strokes if you want, and exports at the width and file size you need.

Nothing is uploaded, and the tool does not alter the shape of your strokes — it only removes the paper around them and resizes the image. Read the exact limits of the form you are submitting to; they vary widely.

How it works

  1. Sign on plain white paper with a dark pen, then photograph or scan it in good light without shadows.
  2. Upload the image. The tool crops to the ink automatically; adjust the ink sensitivity if some strokes are missed or paper texture shows.
  3. Choose transparent PNG or white-background JPG, an ink colour, the required width in pixels and, if the form has one, a maximum size in KB.
  4. Download and check the result on a light and a dark background before uploading it to the form.

Good to know

  • A blue or black gel pen on bright white paper gives the cleanest separation; pencil and faint ballpoint may need a lower sensitivity.
  • Forms that say "JPG only" cannot store transparency — use the JPG option, which flattens the signature on pure white.
  • If a portal specifies a height instead of a width, the aspect ratio is kept, so pick a width that yields the height you need (the preview shows both).

Questions about this tool

Does a cleaned-up signature still count as my signature?

The tool does not change the strokes — it removes the paper and resizes — so the image remains a reproduction of what you signed. Whether an image of a signature is acceptable at all is a rule of the receiving organisation, not something software can decide.

Why is there no drawing pad?

Finger-drawn signatures rarely match a person's real one and are often refused. A photo or scan of your actual signature on paper produces a truer result, which is why the tool starts from an image.

The output is blank or only shows a few dots.

The ink sensitivity threshold is too low for the photo. Raise it until the strokes appear, and make sure the photo does not have dark shadows or a coloured background, which the tool would treat as ink.
